Description

Yokomo, a pioneer in drift radio control, has released a new basic machine “Rookie Drift RD2.0”. With a design concept that emphasizes ease of driving, the base specifications have been enhanced by improving the cutting angle and securing rear grip so that even those who challenge drift radio control for the first time can enjoy drifting immediately. The chassis configuration also takes into account future expandability, and you can enjoy customization by installing optional parts.

Based on a supple resin main chassis with an emphasis on operability, this super standard machine has a configuration that is easy to assemble and handle.

A large urethane bumper absorbs shock. Protects the chassis from unexpected crashes.

Equipped with oil-filled shock absorbers front and rear. The tires themselves are hard and easily transmit road shocks and vibrations, so vibration absorption plays a major role.

Compared to the conventional version, the cutting angle is further increased, and the drift angle control width is increased to prevent spin.

A newly designed steering system that achieves an overwhelming cutting angle and an optimal Ackermann ratio. Derived from repeated driving tests, the settings provide high control even on P-tile surfaces with low road grip, bringing out the front drive and sharpening corners

The steering system can be changed in various forms. Not only is it compatible with slide rack systems, but it can also be equipped with servos that are closer to the battery like SD2.0.

We are planning to release a conversion set with each option, so be sure to find your favorite setting!

For the steering block, I chose the latest Trail 0. It is an honest reaction to the operation.

In addition, the position of the steering stopper has been reviewed, which helps to increase the cutting angle. The tie rod parts are also L-shaped, and all are combined to achieve a deep drift angle.

The battery holder is split left and right, and by selecting a fixed position, it can accommodate standard size and short size Li-po batteries.

When mounted in a short size, the height can be changed simply by turning over the parts of the battery holder, so it can be easily fitted from thick to thin.

A new gear case with a 4-gear transmission that increases rear traction during acceleration. It is sealed and highly dustproof, and the motor mount can be rotated to finely adjust the weight balance.

The rear hub carrier is also the latest model newly designed with SD 2.0. The positional relationship between the axle shaft and the suspension pin has been reviewed, and the outside of the suspension arm is set to be higher than before.

Overall, the suspension sinks more easily, so it is possible to create a load closer to the rear when rolling or accelerating, which increases driving stability.

Newly designed rear suspension mount for RD2.0. Both the front and rear are wider, but the rear gearbox has been moved to the rear and has a suspension mount shape that intersects them.

In addition to increasing the load closer to the rear, the angle of the universal dogbone also has the effect of increasing the rear grip.

The ESC set the rear mount to standard. The opinions of expert drivers have also been taken into account, creating various benefits such as increased rear load and ease of wiring.

Since it is a separate part from the gear case cap, it is also possible to use a conventional brass gear case cap together.

Depending on the mounting position and size of the ESC, it is possible to remove the case cap while it is mounted.

Of course, you can easily access the differential with only four screws, so you can change the setting by adjusting the hardness of the gear differential and maintain the ball differential stress-free.
